Medical device company T-Ray Science Inc. has granted a sublicensing agreement to !%TeraView Ltd.%! of Cambridge, UK, to use certain CW terahertz technology patented by MIT of Cambridge, Mass., and licensed exclusively to T-Ray. TeraView offers a range of advanced terahertz spectrometers, including the CW Spectra 400, which uses the sublicensed technology. The system generates a continuous wave that features a tunable frequency emitted and detected via a set of proprietary fiber-fed terahertz photomixers. It is suitable for spectroscopy and imaging applications on a variety of objects and materials. Under the terms of the agreement, T-Ray will collect royalties on the sales of the spectrometer and other products that use its CW generation in the US.
