The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has received nearly $2 million in federal stimulus funds from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for renovations to expand its high-power laser research capabilities. The grant from NSF’s Academic Research Infrastructure Program is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The total of more than $1.8 million will enable the university to convert its outdated physics laboratories and offices into a state-of-the-art facility known as the High Power Laser Science Collaboratory.
