Oclaro Targets Cosmetic Market

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 25, 2011 — Oclaro Inc., an optical communications and laser solutions company, announced that its 1470-nm laser diodes, which are selling into the eye-safe laser market, are now being targeted at new high-volume skin-treatment consumer markets. The 1470-nm single-emitter lasers, which are showcased at the Photonics West show this week, deliver the power, reliability and stable performance necessary in the cosmetic consumer market.     axis
    A straight line, real or imaginary, passing through a body and indicating its center; a line so positioned that various portions of an object are located symmetrically in relation to the line. See also optical axis.
    beam
