Petra Solar announced the opening of its Network Operations Center (NOC), a command center that will allow the company to use its Smart Grid management software to remotely monitor and control all solar and Smart Grid assets in the field. The software applications offer its utility partners grid reliability and operational benefits that go beyond solar, the company said. Petra Solar has also opened a showroom to demonstrate its SunWave units mounted on wood, concrete, and aluminum utility and streetlight poles. The showroom includes a demo of the company’s Solar Energy Grid Integration Systems technology, which was developed through a contract with the US Department of Energy. The technology allows it to create solutions that preserve grid stability as the penetration of solar increases.
