By combining resources, the companies will offer an end-to-end solution for developers designing, testing and producing the next generation of display devices and LED lighting. The merger will enable the companies to create products to meet new global demands in the photonics and optics industries. In the short term, the combined businesses will be located in a single facility in Redmond, Wash., operating under their respective brands. They will expand customer outreach and technical support functions while beginning to integrate their technologies. The merger is backed by capital from Evergreen Pacific Partners, a private equity fund manager based in Seattle.
