Micron Optics Installs Sensors on Mount Rushmore

ATLANTA, July 6, 2011 — Fiber optic sensing and laser imaging equipment provider Micron Optics Inc. has installed an optical interrogation system on Mount Rushmore. The Rock Block Monitoring System (RBMS) will provide the National Park Service with information critical to the maintenance of the Mount Rushmore National Monument because of the complex assembly of the Rock Block structures that make up the mountainside on which the carving is based.
