Biomagnetics Diagnostics Corp., based in Orangevale, Calif., has accepted delivery of a biosensor that is proposed for use in diagnosing cholera, tuberculosis and malaria. The sensor could be in clinical trials by 2012. Developed in conjunction with scientists and engineers at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, the device could allow relatively untrained medical personnel to detect a variety of diseases rapidly.
