PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 22 -- Electro Scientific Industries Inc. has received an order for multiple units of its Model 2300 Chip Resistor Trimming system from Samsung Electro-Mechanics Co. Ltd. ESI will ship the systems to Samsung's facility in Kyungki Do, Korea over the next three months.According to Woo-Key Do, general manager of Samsung's Chip Resistor Div., The system cost-effectively processes the small four-inch by two-inch parts in volume production, improving our throughput and yield. Introduced in fiscal 1998, the Model 2300 is a high-speed production system for trimming chip resistors and chip arrays.
