Avo Photonics to Make Spaceborne Satellite Laser Beacons

HORSHAM, Pa., Nov. 1, 2012 — Avo Photonics has been selected to develop and provide ongoing packaging services for a semiconductor laser illumination source for use on The Aerospace Corp.’s CubeSat miniaturized spaceborne satellites, the company announced Wednesday. Avo Photonics, a Halva company, was required to produce a 10-W continuous-wave beam at a 795-nm wavelength within a few degrees of the CubeSat reference axis system.
