Lightwave Logic Inc. has appointed Dr. Michael Lebby to its board of directors to oversee photonic device development as a member of the operations committee. Lebby is an inventor in the field of optoelectronics, with more than 200 U.S. utility patents and 195 international derivatives. He is the former head of the Optoelectronics Industry Development Association and a fellow and member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and The Optical Society (OSA). He brings a range of experience from his work with Intel Capital Optoelectronics, AT&T Bell Labs, Motorola's photonics R&D lab, Oclaro and his own fiber optics startups. Earlier this year, Lebby completed a set of integrated photonics technology road maps for the national Institute of Manufacturing Innovation competition, laying out industry needs for transmission speeds of 400 Gbps, 800 Gbps and beyond.
