Carbon Nanotubes Emerge as Potential Quantum Light Sources

LOS ALAMOS, N.M., June 25, 2018 — Researchers report on the potential of carbon nanotubes as single-photon emitters for quantum information processing. A team at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is collaborating with colleagues at CNRS (The French National Center for Scientific Research) and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) to investigate the single-photon purity, generation efficiency, and indistinguishability of single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs).
