GE Medical Acquires Equity Stake in Israeli Company

WAUKESHA, Wis., June 9 -- GE Medical Systems has acquired an equity position in Imarad Imaging Systems Ltd. The investment gives GE Medical a minority share in Imarad Imaging Systems and is expected to speed up the availability of Imarad's solid state detector technology by cementing relations between the companies. Imarad Imaging Systems is an Israeli-based private developer of an advanced detector technology called Cadmium zinc telluride (CZT), used in nuclear medicine cameras.
