Lynx Photonic Networks, developer of patented planar lightwave circuit photonic switches and subsystems, will demonstrate their new Photon.16x16a photonic switch module at the Supercomm 2001 trade show in Atlanta. The module's key features include strictly nonblocking operation, a switching time of less than 2 ms, dynamic power control and weighted multicasting. The strictly nonblocking operation enables the light to be channeled from any input port to any output port, a critical element for dynamic connectivity.
