AFL is a leading manufacturer and provider of engineering expertise with disciplines in integrated services and convergence technologies. From lasers for use in manufacturing facilities to more sophisticated medical processes and sensing, AFL has a solution that is critical for success. AFL's vertically integrated operations and manufacturing capabilities are well-suited to accelerate development of new splicers and cleavers while meeting evolving customer requirements.
AFL offers a wide variety of equipment including the world’s leading brand of
Fujikura fusion splicers. With State of the Arc™ technology, AFL hosts the most extensive and complete line of fusion splicers and related equipment for field splicing and factory/laboratory use. Our Fujikura fusion splicers are the most widely used in the world, and known for performance, productivity and reliability.
Adding to AFL's long heritage of providing the most competitive solutions, AFL in conjunction with Fujikura introduced the LAZERMaster™, the first commercially available glass processing and splicing system that uses a CO
2 laser heat source to perform splicing, adiabatic tapering and other glass-shaping operations. The LAZERMaster possesses large diameter capabilities up to 2.3 mm and long tapering capabilities up to 150 mm.
Furthermore, AFL has the capability to provide custom engineering services for specialty splicing or fiber preparation applications. These services include custom hardware or software design, process improvement consultation, advanced splicer training and maintenance service agreements. If you need a new optical component and/or require a critical splice, AFL can fabricate spliced components including dissimilar fiber splicing, ball lens, tapers, TEC, combiners and MFAs to accelerate your time to market.
Additional product highlights include the hand-held fiber optic test and inspection equipment, end-to-end passive infrastructure such as fiber optic cable, hardware, connectors, couplers and modules. AFL also provides engineering/program management services, material acquisition/manufacturing integration, installation services, test, tune-up and maintenance.
A subsidiary of Fujikura Ltd. of Japan, AFL currently employs more than 4,600 people worldwide and has sales, manufacturing and administrative offices in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia.
