electroluminescent-photoconductive image intensifier

A panel of photoconductive and electroluminescent layers used as either a positive or negative image intensifier, depending on amplitude and phase of its two power supply voltages. The photoconductive layer receives the image and converts it to electrical signals; subsequently, the electroluminescent layer converts the signals to visible, brighter light.
