moving aperture technique

Method for reducing laser speckle in which the object field comes from a real diffuse object or the reconstructed object field from a hologram. During recording of the image, an aperture is moved in the pupil plane of the imaging lens, and if the detector has a sufficiently long time constant, the recorded image will be the incoherent sum of all the images projected from the different positions of the aperture.
