single-photon-decay spectroscopy

A technique for observing the decay of light emissions from sources following their pulsed excitations, based on recording the arrival time of the first photoelectron after excitation. After many cycles, a histogram of these times gives the probability distribution of the photoelectron arrival time, which is proportional to the decaying intensity when the light is sufficiently weak.
