thermoplastic recording device

A display device having a thermoplastic film as the control layer medium. The film, moving from a playoff reel, is scanned by an electron gun and melted by an RF heating unit. Deformation of the film is produced by electrostatic forces between the surface charge on the film and the ground plane. The film is finally cooled to retain these deformations.
