Secondary Speckle Pattern

A self-interference effect that generates random patterns; secondary speckle pattern (SSP) typically occurs in diffuse reflections of a laser on paper, white paint or rough surfaces. By tracking both temporal and amplitude changes of reflected secondary speckle produced in human skin when illuminated by a laser beam, investigators are able to establish a technique for remote noncontact blood pulse pressure measurement and of other vital biomedical parameters.
