Newport Corp. has introduced the AMS AutoAlign series of workstations for fiber optic component characterization and assembly. They feature an engine-alignment platform and provide automated machine vision, adhesive-dispensing, UV-curing and soldering capabilities. The stations offer reduced alignment cycles via FastAlign algorithms, as well as ergonomically designed command consoles and system enclosures. The AutoAlign-P version incorporates a proprietary palletized tooling design and a separate pallet-loading workstation. Applications include planar waveguides, arrayed-waveguide gratings, VCSEL arrays, laser diodes, WDM filters and optical switches.
