Hamamatsu Corp. has introduced the R6357 meshless side-on photomultiplier tube. Delivering more than 100 mA/W, the nine-stage device is suitable for applications such as emission spectroscopy, environmental monitoring, laser scanning microscopy and fluorometry. Its electro-optic construction allows elimination of the mesh in front of the photocathode, delivering increased sensitivity in a 13-mm-diameter footprint.
