PRC Laser offers a CO2 laser cutting and welding technique for three-dimensional formed parts. The technique incorporates a 3000-W CO2 laser integrated with an articulated arm beam delivery system and a processing head that is manipulated by a multiaxis robot. The company says it provides the same multiaxis flexibility as an Nd:YAG laser with a fiber optic beam delivery system but consumes less power and requires less maintenance. The system is suitable for robotic cutting, trimming and welding, as well as for high-volume automotive applications.
