The FPL-01 is, according to manufacturer Calmar Optcom Inc., the first commercial polarization-maintaining pulsed fiber laser. Its design ensures adjustment-free and turnkey operation for high-speed receiver characterization, optical sampling and optical communications R&D. This shoebox-size laser generates minimum 0.1-ps pulses with 5- to 70-MHz repetition rate, 0.4 to 20 MW of average power and less than 0.3- ps timing jitter at wavelengths from 1525 to 1560 nm.
