Sony Electronics has launched the DXC-C33 remote-head color video camera, which has a two-piece design that separates the camera head from the processor. It features digital video output for industrial inspection and microscopy applications. The 1/3-in. three-CCD sensor provides a horizontal resolution of 850 TV lines, 768 x 494 effective pixels, a signal-to-noise ratio of 62 dB and minimum illumination of 2000 lx at f/8. The camera head measures 32 x 38 x 40 mm, weighs 48 g and has a C-mount for use with various optics and couplers. Its small size allows it to be used in environments where space is restricted.
