The BN-0101 luminance/radiance calibration standard system from Gigahertz-Optik Inc. determines the absolute sensitivity and transmittance uniformity of imaging systems such as film and digital cameras, lenses and other optical components. The device is based on a 250-mm-diameter integrating sphere that provides more than 98% white diffuse reflectance throughout the visible and near-infrared spectral range. Four individually driven lamps are mounted onto the sphere that enable signal level control from 1000 to 35,000 cd/m2. An adjustable baffle allows fine-tuning between 0 and 1000 cd/m2 without affecting color temperature.
