Cognex Corp. has introduced a digital CMOS camera with 1280 x 1024 resolution for high-speed machine vision applications. The company says the CDC-100 is about half the size and weight of conventional machine vision cameras. The camera performs a direct 1:1 conversion, providing low-noise digitized images with no pixel jitter. It has a configurable region-of-interest feature, which enables users to select and acquire a limited region within an image. The CDC-100 is designed for use with the company's MVS-8100D frame grabber, which features PatMax technology for locating objects despite changes in angle, scale or appearance. The frame grabber is available in one-, two- or three-channel configurations for use with up to three cameras.
