The ADC1000-USB external A/D converter from Ocean Optics Inc. can be directly connected to the back of the S2000 series spectrometer or can be stacked to the spectrometer with header pins and mounted in the same enclosure. The converter provides a sampling frequency of 1 MHz, enabling integration periods of 3 ms. It can be connected to a PC or other device via a standard RS-232 serial port. The channel rotator function allows simultaneous acquisition of data from up to eight spectrometer channels in four modes: free-running operation, external and software triggering and external synchronization.
