Anritsu Co.'s AF4A709 laser diode module operates at 1480 nm and is designed for use with high-power erbium-doped fiber amplifiers and multipump combinations for Raman amplification. The company says the device can help reduce the total power consumption of DWDM systems and can lengthen the lasers' operating life. Specifications include a minimum in-fiber power of 300 mW, maximum drive current of 100 mA, maximum forward voltage of 2.8 V and an operating temperature range of -20 to +70 °C. The 14-pin butterfly package measures 20.8 x 7.8x 12.7 mm.
