A line of diffraction gratings designed for use in multiplexers, demultiplexers, optical spectrum analyzers and tunable lasers has been introduced by StockerYale Inc. The company says the gratings provide low stray light, low insertion loss and channel-to-channel uniformity. A proprietary holographic recording method is used to fabricate small-period gratings. This method allows diffraction gratings that are several inches long to be manufactured as quickly as smaller gratings.
