A five-megapixel color camera that provides 10-bit digital output is available from SVS-Vistek GmbH. The SVS282 has a 2/3-in. CCD with 2590 x 1944 pixels and a Bayer pattern mosaic filter. It provides an interlaced image with two fields of view, each with 2588 x 972 pixels, at a rate of 10 images per second. The camera has a progressive-scan mode and a free-running mode for use in microscopy. The preview mode has an image rate of ~33 Hz with full field of view. Camera parameters such as gain, offset and exposure time in a range from 1/10,000 to 10 s can be adjusted via the RS-232 interface. A C-mount connector is included.
