The OTS9600 series optical test modules are designed for physical layer testing of passive optical components, including splitters, couplers, fiber Bragg gratings and arrayed waveguide gratings. These sweptwavelength systems from Tektronix Inc. automatically calibrate before each measurement, eliminating the need for manual calibration and reducing test time. They include an eight-channel power meter -- expandable to 88 -- and mode-hop-free tunable lasers. Specifications include wavelength resolution of 1 pm rms, test time of <6.5 s at 1-pm resolution, dynamic range of >65 dB and a detector sampling rate of 10 MHz on optical power meters.
