Qioptiq Photonics Ltd.
Point Source has added a 635-nm red laser diode system to its line of iFlex-2000 fiber-coupled lasers. It delivers a 10-mW, Gaussian TEM00 beam via a single-mode polarization-maintaining fiber. Its noise performance is <45 dB over a range from 5 Hz to 1 MHz, making it a suitable replacement for equivalent-power HeNe lasers. The company says that the laser is highly stable and reliable and that its output power can be altered without compromising beam quality or optical noise. The iFlex-2000 series lasers are actively temperature-controlled to 0.1 °C and have a beam-pointing error <1 µrad/°C.
