ILX Lightwave Corp. has introduced the TLS-8800 series of tunable laser sources, which provide 20 mW of output. The TLS-8801 C-band and TLS-8802 L-band benchtop devices have an integrated wavelength monitor for absolute wavelength accuracy of ±1 pm. The devices measure 88 X 212 X 269 mm and have a power stability of ±0.01 dB over 1 h and ±0.03 dB over 24 h. An integrated power monitor maintains ±0.05 dB throughout the tuning range. The tunable laser sources can sweep in forward or reverse and are suitable for telecommunications applications such as research, development and high-volume manufacturing tests.
