Optiwave Corp. has introduced OptiSystem version 2.1 for the design, test and simulation of optical systems, links and components. The software includes electrical modulators, carrier generator components and a management system that monitors the virtual memory usage and saves calculation graphs and results. It integrates the company's OptiBPM component for designing optical circuits, such as ring resonators. Version 2.1 is compatible with Agilent's Advanced Design System, which contains time-domain waveform data files. The electrical component library allows users to enter parameters that can be measured from real devices.
