The Model FIS-2000 from DCM Industries Inc. is designed for fast visual inspection of optical fibers and ferrules. This fiber inspection system analyzes the fiber face and physical dimensions of the core and cladding, and displays them on a computer screen. The image is inspected for surface blemishes, scratches and uniformity, and compared with preset standards. The software enables setup and configuration for measurements of fiber quality and uniformity, fiber core and cladding diameter, scratches and chips in all zones, epoxy thickness and broken fibers.
