The Fantom F250 from Laser Photonics Corp. is a 250-W sealed CO2 laser for materials processing at a rate equal to that of a 700-W laser at 10.6 µm. This RF-excited laser uses slab-type technology with an intracavity mode-selection system designed to enhance the quality of the beam. It can be pulsed at repetition rates up to 20 kHz, with a pulse duration between 10 and 3000 µs. The internal components are coated to protect the vacuum cavity from outgassing. The laser can cut, scribe, drill and weld wood, plastic, glass, textile composites or thin metal sheets.
