The EpiScan portable microscope from Prior Scientific Instruments Ltd. is designed for in situ inspection of curved metallic and nonmetallic surfaces. This microscope has a magnification range of 50 to 2000X and is suitable for applications such as detecting cracks and checking welds, joints and surface finish quality. It uses a compact, battery-operated light source and offers axial and oblique illumination for highlighting fine surface details. The EpiScan can be placed directly on the object to be examined and has built-in cross-motion slides for scanning surfaces without moving the whole microscope.
