The Microanalysis Group of Oxford Instruments Inc. has added a diamond-turned paraboloidal mirror to the MonoCL2 cathodoluminescence (CL) imaging and spectrometry system. This new feature doubles the previous signal throughput into the monochromator. The system allows detection of extremely low-intensity optical CL signals emitted by many materials when bombarded with an electron beam. With a spectral range from 160 to 1800 nm, the system can display panchromatic and monochromatic images.
