Spectral Instruments' 800 Series CCD digital cameras are high-precision, multisensor detector platforms that provide two types of camera systems. One is for high-speed, high-precision, one-to-four-port imaging at 14-bit resolution; the other provides a dynamic range of 65,000:1 at 16-bit resolution with one- or two-port readout, while preserving a noise floor below 4 e. These cameras can be adapted to any scientific-grade CCD, as large as 6 x 6 cm and with as many as 16 million pixels.
Multiported 14- and 16-bit sensors offer the highest performance available in terms of read speed and read noise. Spectral's CCD cameras are carefully designed to avoid background pattern noise, making them ideal for applications where the images are to be reconstructed or transformed by some convolution kernel.
CCDs in the cameras can be bonded to fiber optics that range from 1:1 faceplates to 163-mm reducers. Both liquid- and air-cooled configurations are available. These cameras support either conventional AIA (multiwire copper) or fiber optic coupling to a PCI data interface card that plugs into any computer running on Windows 98, 2000 or ME. SI Image software is provided with each system.
