Harris Corp. has announced the release of 16H80XX and 16H120XX 10-Gb fiber optic transponders, which operate at 1550 nm. The devices are available as time division multiplex or wavelength division multiplex modules and satisfy Telcordia requirements for SONET long-reach and very long reach links. They feature an MSA-compliant, 300-pin electrical and mechanical interface; 1600- and 2400-ps/ns dispersion tolerance; and high-launch levels with SBS suppression. They measure 3.5 x 4.5 x 0.7 in.
