Linos Photonics GmbH has introduced the FL series up-conversion fiber lasers, which emit visible laser radiation. The lasers provide diode-pumped solid-state operation from 491 to 720 nm. They have a laser active fiber doped with PrYb or Er ions and are available in six emission wavelengths: 491, 520, 546, 605, 635 and 720 nm. The company says the devices offer a long lifetime and low power consumption and require no cooling. Applications include laser scanning microscopy, imaging and metrology.
