The Fiber Lab 3200 fiber optic test instrument, which simulates field applications, has been introduced by M2 Optics Inc. This fiber management system includes individual spools of fiber that provide 1, 2, 4 or 8 dB of fiber attenuation or up to 25 km in each of the four attenuation areas. It has standard SC-APC connectors on the front panel, and the spools can be connected in a series with short patch cords for simulating applications. The system can be provided with a variety of connector interfaces, attenuation at 1310 or 1550 nm, and standard SMF-28 or other single- or multimode fibers.
