A line of real-time digital image processors designed to improve video quality has been launched by National Semiconductor Corp. Suitable for use in digital still cameras, the LM9704 supports 8 fps with 1.3-megapixel resolution and power consumption of 95 mW. The LM9702
allows up to 30 fps with full VGA resolution, consuming 90 mW. The LM9701 offers 8-megapixel resolution and can be used in industrial and automotive applications. The processors can be used with the company's line of CMOS image sensors.
