More vision tools have been added to Cognex Corp.'s VisionPro+ PC-based machine vision tools. Geometric measurement tools can be used to gauge parts and to measure the distance between circles, points and lines. The company says that this software reduces machine vision development time by eliminating the need to apply edge-detection tools to perform measurements. The data-analysis tool enables users to perform statistical analysis of vision tool results without writing a custom program. It automatically computes statistics over time, such as the average and standard deviation of result values.
