Basler Vision Components has added the A504k to its A500 series CMOS area-scan cameras. The device provides up to 500 fps at 1280 x 1024-pixel resolution. Its area-of-interest function enables faster acquisition at lower resolutions; for example, 1066 fps in VGA resolution. Available in either monochrome or color models, the camera features a full frame shutter, a flash trigger output, an LED indicator, an image test function and a computer connector that transmits a VGA image for use as a viewfinder. Crash testing, 3-D holographic data storage, human motion analysis and digital archiving are among its applications.
