For example, the new dBCheck is a handheld power meter that provides measurements of fiber optic cable. The dBCheck comes with a choice of three connectors: ST, FC and SC. Calibrated using NIST-traceable standards, it has a measurement range of 260 to 3 dBm. It provides ±5% accuracy from 850 to 1700 nm, and its three-digit LCD provides readouts for microwatts, milliwatts and decibels per meter. The device features a long-life lithium battery, too.
