Corning Diamond Turning Div. (formerly OFC Diamond Turning) is a major supplier of high-precision custom optical components, optical subsystems and subassemblies for defense and commercial applications.
We have comprehensive in-house manufacturing capabilities and are one of the largest diamond-turning facilities in the world, with 15 state-of-the-art diamond machining centers, including a three-axis "free-form" machine tool.
Our 60,000-sq-ft facility houses expansive CNC machining, in-house electroless nickel plating, a world-class 10,000-sq-ft vacuum coating facility, and extensive optical and mechanical metrology. Off-axis reflective optics and telescope assemblies are a specialty, as is our ability to offer in-depth concurrent engineering in optical, optomechanical and mechanical aspects of our customers' applications.
We also have a business unit dedicated to the production of optical "masters" for injection molding of high-precision optics, including ophthalmic lenses, microlens arrays, microgroove structures and other optical components.
Corning Diamond Turning Div. is proud to introduce its new proprietary "LEC" process for producing diffraction-free optical surfaces in aluminum optics without the need for nickel plating or postpolishing.
