Ondax Inc. has unveiled an addition to its Fasma series of tunable filters for reconfigurable add/drop multiplexers. The Fasma 100-2-041-1-TM can rout high-bandwidth signals over the whole C-band, optically selecting any ITU dense WDM channel from 1528 to 1565 nm. Its data-carrying channel's high-performance optical filtering achieves 35-dB isolation and 4-dB insertion loss and enables bit-error-rate testing and protocol-layer analysis of individual channels. The precise channel selector supports rapid, accurate measurements of optical signals up to 10 Gb/s, enabling users to test channel performance nonintrusively in long-haul and metro systems.
