Version 4 of Optical Research Associates' LightTools illumination design and analysis software for the Windows PC platform has a new user interface that is designed to be more intuitive and consistent with other Windows-based programs. Features include navigation windows for quick location of system data, extensive right-click context menus and context-sensitive help, tabbed dialog boxes and spreadsheet-style presentation of analysis results. Other new functions include accurate simulation convergence and Catia data exchange. The software includes a library of more than 400 light sources, 25 plastics and various predefined surface finishes, coatings and color filters.
