SPECTROPHOTOMETER McPherson Inc. has released a spectrophotometer that measures reflectance, transmission, fluorescence, phosphorescence and lifetime of most samples. The Rotospec 1 can characterize metallic, pearlescent, multilayer and diffractive pigments. Background fluorescence can be measured or excluded from measurements to determine true colors. The device features monochromatic illumination and a goniometric sample mount surrounded by the revolving and detecting emission spectrometer, which allows transmission detection at any continuously tunable angle from about 10° to 180°. The company says the reflective optics ensure optimal throughput.
